Super cool coffee shop in a really awesome neighborhood! The old building vibes were really awesome. Definitely a cool spot the chill and read a book or do some work. The only thing that I didn't think was cool (and I'm sure I'll get a nasty response because of this) was one of the baristas was wearing a shirt that said "Kill all TERFs" which I think everyone should be allowed to have an opinion and express it, I don't think it's professional to wear a shirt expressing your desire to eliminate an entire group of people because they have a different opinion of you. Other than that the place was a cool vibe! 🤙🏼

Lovely local coffee shop. Staff are friendly, coffee is good, and seasonal drinks are fun. Everything we’ve gotten for food has been spot on as well. A go-to spot when we visit the area!

I moved to Richmond six months ago. I didn’t know what to expect. I was like, Okay… am I about to become a different person? Do I say “y’all” now? Do I suddenly own a cast-iron skillet? This coffee house is Richmond in a nutshell. The coffee is great—like, annoyingly good. You can’t mess up a latte here, but my favorite is the sugar cookie latte, which sounds fake, but somehow tastes like emotional support. The prices are very reasonable. Which shocked me. I moved from California, where a latte costs seventeen dollars and comes with an attitude. Here? Half the price. Better quality. No judgment. What is this sorcery? This place punches way above its weight. But the best part isn’t even the coffee—it’s the people. They welcome everyone. I came in as a new person in town and nobody was like, “So… why are you here?” Instead, it was just vibes. Warm, human vibes. Now it’s part of my morning routine. I get my coffee before work, and when I run into the staff outside of Riverbend, they actually say hi. Like they remember me. In public. On purpose. Also, they’re big supporters of human rights for all, which—listen—if my coffee doesn’t believe in human rights, I don’t want it. So yeah. Great coffee. Great people. No trauma. Five stars.

This is my second time at Riverbend Roastery and I will definitely be back more often. I loved my breakfast sandwich (egg and cheese) and my iced s’mores latte. As you can see, they toast two marshmallows to put on top. I’ll be coming back here because everything I had was delicious, but mostly because of the experience. I spilled my first smores latte (in quite dramatic fashion) and a very nice person got up to help me and my friend clean it up. A barista also came over to help with wet cloths and told me they were making me a replacement right now. It was so kind of everyone to help me. Riverbend Roastery is a safe space - even for spills! Thanks again!

I forgot about this hidden gem. Stopped by since I was working for a customer next-door. I grabbed a strawberry shortcake latte and couldn’t be happier, I was immediately greeted when I walked in and the cashier was very nice. Great job all around, thank you!!

Stopped to use WiFi and get a pick me up. Drip coffee is self serve and still better than average and appeared fresh. I had the light roast which was fantastic. I also got a raspberry gluten free muffin that was actually muffin sized-big enough to constitute a late breakfast and left me satiated-and decently priced. The wifi password is pasted in several places. The benches are just small enough to be a little uncomfortable but the chairs are great. Seating is slightly limited but each table along the bench had access to a plug in. They also have tables and benches set up outside on the sidewalk where several dogs and their humans could be found lounging.

Probably my favorite RVA coffee shop! Great signature and seasonal drinks. I don’t do extravagant coffee drinks often but I really enjoy their tiramisu cold brew and blueberry chai (I think this may only be for the summer). Sometimes I just get a drip coffee, because the Church Hill blend, which they have in a carafe, is so simply delicious. In my experience, the food is good for what it is, but the coffee is absolutely excellent. Expect them to be busy and for not much seating to be available inside!

Riverbend Roastery is such a gorgeous neighborhood gem in Church Hill! I stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and was blown away. The space is beautiful, sunny, well-curated, and has a wonderfully welcoming, delightfully inclusive atmosphere. The staff were both kind and efficient, even during the weekend morning rush. I tried a drink off their seasonal menu and loved how imaginative and unique their flavor combinations are—it feels like a little adventure in a cup. I also ordered the All-Star breakfast sandwich on ciabatta, and the bread was perfection. Unlike other dense, overly chewy ciabattas I’ve had elsewhere, this was perfectly toasted with a crispy crust but stayed light and easy to chew. It’s the perfect spot to treat yourself to a lovely morning!
